PortalWisconsin

This website is basically a collaboration of a bunch of artists and their artwork. What makes it special, however, is how local these artists are—all Wisconsinites! That, alone, was inspiring to me because Lianne and Megan and I always ask ourselves, “What would be cool art in Pewaukee?”; I guess we weren’t looking hard enough! The landscapes and macros that these artists were able to capture are breathtaking with impeccable color and sharpness. Specifically, I found that Bruce Warren’s use of shadow is something that I would like to mimic in my pieces. Another factor of the photographers from this website that I would like to imitate is their sharp use of color—Mark Buehl, for example. Lastly, a real generality, but all the photos on this website have AWESOME names—haha. It inspires me to be more creative when titling my future artwork.

I chose this image because I absolutely LOVE winter/snowy photos. I hope we have a nice, white winter to give me opportunities to create my own collection of a Wisconsin Winter Wonderland!

I chose this image because the photographer is from Eau Claire, and the images are taken from the UW Eau Claire campus! I toured here earlier this summer and absolutely loved it. So naturally, I was drawn to his photography.
