Concentration: DONE!

Finally finished my concentration! Check it out on my flickr :)

My concentration is based on the idea of conversational photography I wanted to capture people’s facial expressions, rather than their words, throughout conversations of all types. Then, from their facial expression, I used colors and lighting to emphasize the mood of the conversation. While some emotions are clearer than others, some expressions are left open for interpretation. I tried to vary my subjects both in age and in gender.

Throughout my concentration, many moods are expressed. Some examples are laughter, imaginative, contemplative, eager, and alone. I hoped to portray emotions deeper than just happy and sad. I also found a lot of my pieces including more than one photograph because the repetition of the expression emphasized the conversation.  The multiple image pieces also strengthen the conversations mood because the same person is photographed showing conflicting emotions. I also focused on the subjects’ faces and downplayed the background.
